Martin-Green grew up in Russelville, Alabama and graduated from Russelville High School in 2003. Little else is known of Martin-Green's early life except that she Graduated in 2007 from the University of Alabama's Department of Theatre and Dance.
Martin-Green began acting on-screen in 2005, portraying the role of Coco Delight in Not Quite Right. She has appeared in several movie roles since such as I-Can-D (2007), Blind Thoughts (2008) and Tote to Toe (2009). Her first TV portrayal occurred in 2008 on NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent, in which she had an episodic role.
Her next TV appearance was one of her more notable performances on Army Wives, in which she guest starred in 3 episodes as Kanessa Jones. Other recurring roles the actress has scored include The Good Wife and NYC 22. Martin-Green later became, arguably, best known for her portrayal of Sasha on AMC's The Waking Dead. Her 5 episode recurring role in the show's third season lead to Martin-Green being confirmed as a series regular for season 4, which set to air in 2013.
