Dylan Schmid is one of the supporting actors of Once Upon a Time, portraying the dual role of young Baelfire.

Biography

Early Life

Schmid was born in Victoria, B.C., Canada. As a toddler, Schmid spent hours play-fighting and doing skits with his older brother, T.J Schmid. He is known as the dramatic child of his family, branded as he who could always make you laugh with his "funny expressions" and "weird movements".

Career

Schmid started acting at the age of six when he was hand-picked to star in 2 short movies, made by students. He appeared in a pilot mini series called Gibson Gus. He played "Prince of York" in eight summer performances with Victoria Shakespeare Society. Schmid was later chosen for a lead role with the Pacific Opera Victoria in Rodelina, where he played her son, Flavio. In 2010, Schmid went to L.A. with AIPA (Marg Haynes) and did a 2 week intense acting course with Patrick Day and Nora Eckstein at Young Actors Space, and was given extremely positive reviews.

In 2012, Schmid was given a guest role in ABC's Once Upon a Time, in which he portrayed Baelfire, the estranged son of Rumplestiltskin. He appeared in 2 episodes of the show's first season, and the same amount of episodes in the second. Schmid has appeared in The Hobbit (2013), in which he played two roles, and has also made an appearance in the fourth season of Fringe. He is set to be portraying a D.J. in an upcoming film, The Ferret Squad.
