Corinna Bechko is a comics writer of Once Upon a Time.

Biography

Corinna Bechko's birthday is February 5.[1] From 1999 to 2004, she studied at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, and she eventually received a Zoology/Animal Behavior degree. During her studies, she also worked as research assistant and project manager at Los Angeles Zoo's research division.[2]

From March 2005 to January 2007, Corinna worked as wildlife vet tech at California Wildlife Center, where she assisted with all aspects of wildlife rehabilitation including rescue, administration of medication, feeding young, cleaning, transport, restraint, administration of first aid, and assisting in surgical procedures. In March 2005, she also got a second job at Playboy Enterprises, Inc. as zoo keeper. She worked there until May 2011.[2]

Corinna has been writing comics since her horror graphic novel Heathentown was published by Image/Shadowline in 2009. Since then, she has worked for numerous comics publishers including Marvel, DC, Boom!, and Dark Horse on titles such as Planet of the Apes, Star Wars: Legacy or Hugo-nominated series Invisible Republic.[3]

In 2013, Corinna co-wrote Once Upon a Time's Shadow of the Queen with show writer Daniel T. Thomsen. She also worked on the second comics book with Kalinda Vazquez in 2015. In addition, she was recently short-listed for the Aeon Award for her prose short story "Sutterkin".[4]

As of today, Corinna exclusively works as freelance comics writer. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and a small menagerie.[2][3]
