Christine Boylan is one of the producers and writers of Once Upon a Time.


Boylan was born in 1977 to Maria, a medical assistant, and Peter Boylan, a service representative. She grew up in New York and attended Hofstra University in Hempstead. Since the fall of 2010, Boylan has been married to screenwriter Eric Heisserer.

She started her career in television as an executive story editor and writer on an NBC mini-series titled Day One in 2007. The series, however, did not air. Boylan then went on to work as a story editor and writer on the TNT drama Leverage in 2008 for two years. Her next position was on the ABC medical drama Off the Map as an executive story editor and writer. Boylan contributed two episodes to the show's first season. In the summer of 2011, she joined the crew of the ABC crime series Castle as a writer and co-producer for their fourth season. She has also written comic books for DC, Marvel, Boom, Tokyopop and NBC, including two of the Heroes comics.

In the fall of 2012, Boylan joined the second season crew of the Once Upon a Time, as a writer and producer. For the third season, she became a consulting producer.
