I've been wanting to do something like this for a while now, make little blogs with rankings of miscellaneous stuff based on combinations of my biased and unbiased opinions, and since Once Upon a Time has concluded forever with its sixth season's finale I figured now was as good a time as any.

I have an overall very mixed opinion about this season, similar to that of the fifth season. Personally, I thought it had a very strong start and looked to be the best season since the series' first; I loved a majority of the first half, finding most of the storylines to be strong enough, the writing and acting to all be decent, and it really seemed as though they were trying. I respected that. But then 6B happened, and it all kinda went to shit. Sure it…

For me, what I will miss the most is their positive attitude about children, whether they are born or unborn. It's very rare for tv shows to consistently promote the value of unborn babies these days. It's even rarer for a tv show to present single-parenting and adoption as a positive thing.

Ah, here we are. OUaT's finish line. Well, the finish line to this narrative, at least. As I'm typing this, I haven't actually seen the finale episodes yet, and so I have no idea if the show's been renewed or not, and probably still won't have any idea by the time I actually come to posting this. (EDIT: Lol.) But here's hoping it's cancelled forever because yeah legit nobody wants a fucking reboot. No. Body. The only person I feel bad for is Rebecca Mader, who deserves her own spin-off series entitled Wicked Always Wins which is just generally about Zelena and everything she does, because she's the one true piece of good to shine out since all the core characters completed their maximum level of development back in Season 3. (EDIT: This is maki…

    Season 5B Review

    May 17, 2016 by Jdg98

So, everyone. We've finished yet another season of the show we watch because Josh was dumb enough to start a Wiki for it 5 years ago and now we're trapped. This year was far from perfect; in fact, it was a pretty wild ride, containing within it the worst episode in the history of the show… but it also had some of the best, all contained within the season's fabulous second half. Season 5 got off to a strong start but then fucked itself off hard… and then 5b just sort of redeemed it all, didn't it? Was a pretty fun ride, revisiting old characters and plot threads we never thought would get tied up. They even fixed the Camelot fuckery pretty well within the final triad of episodes. Guys… I'm pretty content with Season 5, and I haven't felt thi…

    5B build up

    March 9, 2016 by Everthevillain

    • Confronting Regina for burning her. Perhaps a Hansel and Gretel mention? Maybe the Blind Witch and Cruella team up and go after Swan Queen? Prolly won't happen.

    • Behaving like Claire did in season 6 when she finds out about Rumple going dark again. She seems to be taking it better than when she found out he double crossed the heroes during th Frozen arc.
    • Finding out Rumple turned Gaston into a rose and she made a fresh cut. She will find out next episode.
    • Her possible pregnancy. Knocked up. Finding out she's pregnant with Rumple's baby. Prolly when the first rounds of morning sickness begin. Prolly tonight. She's aware.
    • Meeting Cora just cos. Cora moved on, Belle under sleeping curse.

    • Crossing paths with James. 5x19. It sure ended well for one of them.

Okay people, it's been a riot, it really has, but here we are. One hundred Ninety-nine episodes are now far behind us, and the 101st 100th episode has just graced our screens. Like the majority of my prior reviews, I am writing from the past. Right now, about four guest stars have been announced and it's heavily ambiguous as to whether or not Emilie de Ravin will be making an appearance (lol if she didn't… except not). Haven't even done my 5.11 review yet, which by now you all will have read. But I'd like to put all that aside and kick off this review in some style. While the placing of the 100th episode is questionable, the fact that "Souls of the Departed" is our 100th episode article is not, and that means that there are 99 others each with …

    5.11 - "Swan Song" Review

    December 7, 2015 by Jdg98

So like, I've decided to review this episode, mainly because I like to do that thing where I run through each episode that's aired between my current and most recent review, and I don't want to be running through the shit fest of S5A during my 100th episode review, which I'm sooooo doing; and besides, I have my own special plan for that which I suppose y'all have to look forward to. Lol though at that reasoning because this ep I'm reviewing right now (from the past, mind you, as always) is actually the 100th… but semantics, amirite?

Anyway, let's dive right in with 5.02, "The Price", which was quite a strong continuation for the Camelot arc – the Camelot arc – but the Storybrooke shit? Yeah that made absolutely no sense.

"Dreamcatcher" was highly built up over the last portion of the summer and up until now as one of the key episodes of S5A, a true "heartbreaker", that would send Twitter aflutter. Whether it has accomplished just that or not I do not know, for I hardly keep up with that, but it appears to have sat well with critics and the general fandom. I think I can understand why, for the most part: its premise is a good one. In theory, this is a good episode: it is riddled with character interactions of a non-romantic nature (the core Emma-Regina-Henry dynamic that should be at the center of the show more often), so-called heart-warming or heart-wrenching moments, less running around and a couple of twists. If this episode was described to me beforehe…

    SPOILER WARNING!

    CoyoteDork's Review on "Dreamcatcher"

    Hello huntis,

After a pretty good start to Season 5 - a good start, not great start - the series seemed to take a turn for the worse. Not so surprisingly, this episode was written by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis and apparently directed by some guy named Tyrone.

It's a rare episode that inspires me to write a review about it (I don't actually think I've reviewed an episode before) but "Dreamcatcher" was just so terrible I had to say something - especially since fans are loving it! Totally illogical to me!

The teaser for this episode was pretty good, was fine enough. I enjoyed Merlin and his interactions with the Dark One (Vortigan?). It was creepy and I liked it, despite it being a rip of…

    Unbanning Lil Miss Peep

    October 21, 2015 by Jdg98

It has come to my attention that one of our beloved admins, Lil Miss Peep, has been blocked - seemingly across the Wikia network. I would like for this blog to be seen as a petition for her release, so to speak, for it is surely a crime that such a faithful Wikia contributor be deprived of contributing in such a harsh manner. I would like it on the record that she's a terrific user, and an even better authority figure around this Wiki. She's proved her mettle as an Administrator and Bureaucrat on a multitude of occasions, and I'm confident when I say that this place would fall apart without her.

    October 12, 2015 by CoyoteDork

"Much like previous seasons, the second half of the season will contain a different arc from the first half. How would the producers describe the second half of the season? “Hell,” Kitsis deadpans."

This pretty much confirms Hades for Season 5B...and I am also going to assume someone will die and their soul will end up in the Underworld. Perhaps this could also introduce Facilier and address how Phillip got his soul back.

Wow. Just wow, really. Everyone knows how prepared I always am to crap on this show based on its many, many, many flaws, but trust me when I tell you that I absolutely love it when an episode like this comes around and proves me wrong, proves that they still do have it in them to do right by some of their wrong, to tell a nice story that speaks to the core of the characters and to set things up in exciting ways. "The Price" pretty much hit all the right spots, and it was a joy to watch throughout.

Let's discuss the payoff this episode granted first. Regina's characterization was always shaky at best, but in this chapter she owned up to being the Evil Queen, as opposed to asserting that that's who she was, not who she is, like what she was doesn't…

    "The Price" Review

October 5, 2015 by Lil Miss Peep

I'm reviewing this week! :D Let's get started...

Wow, okay, this was a pretty bae episode. After the piece of moo that OUaT crapped out last week, I was shocked. For a majority of the summer, I had been pretty excited about season 5. The Dark One mythology, the new Camelot characters, Zelena's inclusion as a series regular, and even Dark Swan seemed to have potential. I was really looking forward to the premiere, and then, well, it was a disappointment. I just wasn't really feeling it, yunno? Regina and Hook were taking charge when it should've been Snow and Charming; I didn't care for Jennifer Morrison's acting when it came to Emma resisting her dark urges; Blue giving Belle the enchanted rose was handled extremely poorly, which was one of…

5.01 - "The Dark Swan" Review

    September 29, 2015 by Jdg98

Okay, I think I promised one or two people that I'd do another one of these, and I kinda wanted to do one anyway so I figured, what the hey, I'll just crap one out. Much like Eddy and Adam did when they wrote this episode. First shot fired! Nah, but I actually quite liked it. It wasn't great, it wasn't awful, but it certainly was something. And, these days, that's all we can really expect from OUaT, isn't it?

The premiere started in Minneapolis, because apparently the writers just love to situate Emma in a place that starts with "M". Seriously, she's lived in Minnesota, Massachusetts, Maine… it's like they pick the state they're gonna include in her flashbacks with a big American Atlas where the pages are all stuck together and the "M" secti…
