Baron Danglars is an episodic character on Once Upon a Time. A rich and powerful man, the Baron Danglars was responsible for the suffering of many people throughout the realm of 19th Century France. One of those people included Edmond Dantès, a man who went on quest for vengeance after losing his home, fortune and fiancée at the hands of the Baron.

In 19th Century France, at some point during his life, the Baron Danglars had a run-in with Edmond Dantès, in which he burned down his village, squandered his family fortune and murdered his fiancée - all before personally throwing him in prison. However, Edmond eventually got out and began rebuilding his fortune for more than a decade. Now known as Lord Wilmore, or the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmond decides to throw a party, inviting many guests, including the Baron Danglars. He eventually reveals himself and claims he wants revenge. Then, in front of all his guests, he stabs the Baron Danglars with his sword, killing him instantly. Impressed by this act of vengeance, the Evil Queen hires Edmond to kill Snow White and Prince Charming in return for a list with the lists of all the people responsible for his fiancée's death.
